The annual congress of the International Association of Music Libraries, Music Archives and Music Documentation Centers (IAML) will take place in Leipzig from 22 to 27 July 2018.
The main venue of the IAML Congress is the Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ Leipzig (HMT), which is the oldest music conservatoire in Germany. The HMT’s main building is located centrally in the so-called Musikviertel with other universities and cultural institutions close-by.
The program of this professional Congress is aimed at music librarians and musicologists, and it includes lectures and discussions on the challenges of digital change, issues related to working with historical sources, questions of music distribution and developments related in music libraries.
The social program will offer our guests insights to numerous musical and cultural institutions, as well as presenting highlights of the Saxon music tradition in two concerts with renowned performers.
We cordially invite you to participate in this professional exchange about librarianship and musicology as part of the IAML congress and to get to know and appreciate Leipzig’s wealth, diversity and vitality – It’s all in the Leipzig mix.
