The International Association of University Libraries (IATUL) invites you to attend the 39th Annual IATUL Conference at Oslo Metropolitan University in Oslo, Norway on 18–21 June.

Get inspiration for the future work with library development and meet up with colleagues and friends from all over the world at the same time.

Libraries for the Future – from Inspiring Spaces to Open Science
The technological developments of recent decades have contributed to increased access to digital sources of knowledge and digital tools for students, teachers and researchers. These developments have changed not only patterns of work, study and research in higher education, but also patterns of library use.

Creating a modern library, then, demands that we respond to these changes and the challenges and opportunities they bring. One way to accomplish this is to focus on the users: what are their needs and what kinds of library and library services are relevant to them? Responding to change may also mean looking at how we organize our work: what will be the goals of a library of the future, and how will we organize ourselves, cooperate and collaborate to achieve these goals?

With this in mind, the overall topics for the conference and the call for papers will be:

  • User Centered Library and Service Design
  • Research Support and Open Science
  • Open Innovation
  • Beyond now – leading the workforce of the future
  • Information Literacy in a Digital Age
  • Strategic Collaboration, locally and globally

Extended deadline for proposals/abstracts: 18. Feb. 2018
